Zach LaVine is an American Professional NBA player currently playing for the Chicago Bulls. On the court, he plays the position of a point guard. LaVine was born on March 10, 1995, in Renton, Washington. He was brought up in a family surrounded by athletes. His father plays professional NFL football and his mother plays softball. LaVine developed a passion for basketball watching Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant dominate the sport. He attended Bothell High School in Washington. Throughout his high school journey, he achieved major mild stones. In 2013, Zach LaVine was named Associated Press Washington Player of the year and Washington Mr. Basketball. CAREER
In 2013, LaVine attended UCLA where he played basketball for one season before declaring for the NBA draft. Throughout his short time playing, he was constantly compared to Russell Westbrook, a fellow alumnus. Despite a few ups and downs, LaVine was still voted to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team.

In 2014, Zach LaVine was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the 13th overall pick. Initially, he played off the bench, but when Ricky Rubio got injured, LaVine was forced to start. He posted numerous double-doubles, achieved several milestones, and set career-high in points. Zach LaVine participated in the 2015 All-Star Weekend and won the Slam Dunk Contest. He became the youngest winner since Kobe Bryant back in 1997. He would defend his crown in the 2016 Slam Dunk Contest beating Orlando Magic’s’ forward Aaron Gordon. LaVine became the 4th player in NBA history to won the title 2 consecutive times. He also achieved MVP honors in the Rising Stars Challenge.
