ORIGIN
Yung Gravy is an American rapper and songwriter. He’s also known by the monikers “Mr. Butter” and “Lil Streamer.” His discography includes Mr. Clean (2016), Yung Gravity (2017), Baby Gravy (2017), and Snow Cougar (2018). He’s collaborated with acts like Ugly God, D.R.A.M., bbno$ and Jay Storm. Gravy was born Matthew “Matt” Hauri on March 19, 1996, in Rochester, Minnesota. He reportedly lost his father at age 16. Gravy attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. He graduated in 2017 with a degree in marketing.

CAREER
Gravy launched his rap career in 2016. His musical style includes a mix of old-school rap and modern-day trap music. He’s also known for his use of pinup-style album art. His musical influences include Marvin Gay, Stevie Wonder and The Blackbyrds among others. Gravy shared his debut single “Karen” via SoundCloud in May 2016. His debut EP, Mr. Clean, followed in September 2016. The EP was supported by the White Shinobi-produced track “Mr. Clean.” It became a viral hit, amassing 11+ million spins on SoundCloud. The official video for Mr. Clean has 18+ million views on YouTube. Gravy closed out 2016 with the mixtape, Thanksgiving Eve. The track-list includes “Splash Mountain”, “Flex on Christmas” and “Ms. Gravystone” featuring Mia Gladstone.

Gravy’s second EP, Yung Gravity, was released in April 2017. It included songs like “Flex Season” and “Bought the Plug a Present” featuring Jay Storm. The collaborative EP, Baby Gravy, between Yung Gravy and bbno$ premiered in October 2017. It was supported by the tracks “Rotisserie”, “Boomin” and “Gasoline.” Gravy is currently signed to Republic Records. His first project for the label, Snow Cougar, arrived in May 2018. The production was handled by Englewood, Jason Rich, Danny Wolf, and a few others. It spawned the singles “1 Thot 2 Thot Red Thot Blue Thot”, “Ice Cream Truck” and “Sandy.” Rappers Ugly God and D.R.A.M. made guest appearances.
