Yogi Berra was an American professional baseball player, coach and manager. He played 19 seasons in Major League Baseball as a catcher, 18 of which was for the New York Yankees. Berra was an 18-time All-Star, 10-time World Series champion, and regarded by many as one of the best catcher of all-time. He grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and learned the basics of playing baseball in local American Legion Leagues. He made his Major League debut on September 22, 1946 for the Yankees. Berra retired as a player after the 1963 season. He would later serve as coach and manager for the New York Yankees and New York Mets at different times. He died of natural causes on September 22, 2015 at the age of 90. Yogi Berra had a net worth of $5 million.
