Vin Diesel is an American actor, director, screenwriter, and producer. He’s known for such films as ‘The Fast and the Furious’ and ‘The Chronicles of Riddick’. Diesel was born Mark Sinclair on July 18, 1967, in Alameda County, California. He has a twin brother named ‘Paul’, plus two other siblings, Samantha and Tim. He was raised in New York City by his mother, Delora, and his stepfather, Irving. Diesel attended Anglo American International School followed by Hunter College. He studied English at Hunter but dropped out before completing a degree.

CAREER
Diesel began his acting career at the age of 7. He appeared in a handful of stage production such as ‘Dinosaur Door’ at the Theater for the New City. He later worked as a club bouncer in New York. Being a bouncer, he was able to develop that toughness that is seen in many of his films. Diesel made his acting debut in the 1990 drama film, Awakenings. He held the uncredited role as “Orderly”. Diesel created the short film ‘Multi-Facial’ in 1995. The film told the story of a multiracial actor and his struggles. His second film ‘Strays’ was released in 1997. The film was entered into the 1997 Sundance Festival.

Diesel was cast as “Adrian Caparzo” in Steven Spielberg’s 1998 war drama, Saving Private Ryan. He followed up with prominent roles in Boiler Room (2000), and the animated film The Iron Giant (1999). Diesel starred as “Richard B. Riddick” in The Chronicles of Riddick film trilogy. The first installment ‘Pitch Black’ was released in 2000. He reprised the role in 2004 and again in 2013. Diesel held the lead role as “Dominic Toretto” in The Fast and the Furious (2001). The film also stars Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jordana Brewster. Six sequels were released with the latest being ‘Furious 7 (2015)’. Other notable films include XXX (2002) with Asia Argento, The Pacifier (2005) with Lauren Graham, Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) with Chris Pratt, and The Last Witch Hunter (2015) with Elijah Wood.
