Victoria Arlen is an American television personality, motivational speaker, and model. She’s a former Paralympian swimmer, gold medalist, and World Record holder. She currently works as a sportscaster for ESPN. Arlen was born on September 26, 1994, in Boston, Massachusetts. She was raised in Exeter, New Hampshire. Her parents are Larry and Jacqueline. She has three brothers, triplets L.J., William, and Cameron.

CAREER
Arlen is a former paralympic swimmer who specialized in freestyle and breaststroke. Prior to her injuries, she was a local junior swimmer. Arlen tried out and made the USA Paralympic swim team in 2012. She was 17 at the time. She competed and won four medals at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. She won gold in the 100m freestyle, and silver medals in the 400m and 50m freestyle. She won a third Silver medal as a member of Team USA for the 4x100m freestyle relay. Arlen holds the world record in the 100m freestyle. Her autobiography ‘Locked In’ will be published in 2018.

Arlen made the transition to television in early 2015. She was hired as a sportscaster for ESPN at the age of 21. She was the youngest regular reporter for ESPN at the time. She’s covered programs like the X-Games, The ESPY Awards, the Special Olympics World Games, and SportsCenter. Arlen is also a motivational speaker. She has given speeches and shared her incredible journey at functions like TEDx and for companies like Disney and Pfizer. In September 2017, she was named as a contestant on the 25th season of Dancing with the Stars. Her partner is professional dancer Valentin Chmerkovskiy. The season is set to premiere on September 18, 2017, on ABC.

PERSONAL
Victoria Arlen is about 5ft 7in tall. She developed the rare conditions of transverse myelitis and acute disseminated encephalomyelitis when she was 11-year old. For 4 long years, she lost the ability to speak, eat and walk. Doctors believed that recovery was highly unlikely. However, Arlen began her road to recovery starting in 2010. Slowly but surely she regained the ability to speak, eat, and move around. She regained her ability to walk in 2016. The paralysis recovery center, Project Walk, aided in her recovery.
