Trayvon Martin was an American teenager who was fatally shot and killed by neighborhood watch George Zimmerman in Sanford, Florida. He was 17 year old at the time of his death.
Trayvon was born on February 5, 1995 in Miami, Florida to parents Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin. He attended Highland Oaks Middle School. His early interest in airplanes led him to the 2009 summer program ‘Experience Aviation’ ran by Barrington Irving. He also attended the George T. Baker Aviation School. Trayvon spent two years at Carol City High School before transferring to Michael M. Krop High School in 2011. He was suspended from school in 2011 for carrying a marijuana pipe and a bag with marijuana residue. He was suspended on two other occasions but never had a juvenile record.
Trayvon Martin was gunned down by George Zimmerman on February 26, 2012 following an alleged altercation between the two. He was walking home from a local 7-11 at the time of his death. Zimmerman claimed self-defense and was acquitted of all charges on July 13, 2013.
