Tokyo Jetz is an American female rapper from Jacksonville, Florida. She is currently signed and affiliated with T.I‘s Grand Hustle Records. Jetz is the artist behind popular singles, No Problem and The One. She also made headlines in 2017 after collaborating with Hustle Gang members on hit single, Friends. Since then, she has become a prominent female artist in hip-hop music.

Real name, Shauntrell Pender, she was born on October 26, 1994, in Jacksonville, Florida. She grew up in a rough area of the city. In an interview, she recalled living off section 8 and food stamps while growing up in the projects. From a young age, she moved back and forth between Atlanta and Jacksonville. Jetz was constantly getting into trouble in both cities. Before taking on rapping full-time, Tokyo Jetz was a poet. She apparently started rapping while attending high school. Unfortunately, she dropped out and never graduated. She grew up listening to a variety of artists ranging from Toni Braxton, Boyz II Men, and Mary J. Tokyo Jetz started her career back in high school. In her junior year, she released her first recorded single which garnered quite the attention in her local city. Following its success, she took to social media, creating a professional footprint. Utilizing YouTube and Instagram, Jetz released various freestyles and remixes that attracted large crowds. In 2016, her spin on Yo Gotti‘s “Down In The DM” got her a lot of attention. With north of a million streams, the track went viral and certainly aided in getting her noticed.

In 2016, Tokyo Jetz popped up on T.I’s radar and the Atlanta rapper signed her. She would later move to Atlanta in pursuit of her dreams. The following year, Jetz successfully released her debut album, Viral. The 2017 project, featuring T.I, London Jae, Sy Ari Da Kid, and others, was spearheaded by “My Story” and “Sunshine.” Collectively, they have accumulated over 2 million streams. Other notable singles include “Supposed To Be In Love.”

Perhaps her most notable track of 2017 is a collaboration with Hustle Gang members on “Friends.” The single, featuring six artists including T.I, has racked up several million streams over a few months. On YouTube alone, it exceeds 15 million views. That year, she also toured with her label’s entourage. The next year would prove to be even more successful.

2018 saw the release of her hit single, No Problem. Uploaded in August, under Grand Hustle, the music video has seen more than 13 million streams in 6 months. It has become her most popular solo effort to date. She also appeared on DJ Shab’s “Where I Come From” and Bally Greezy’s “Gimme Kiss.” Bonafide, her second project, landed in September. Led by “No Problem,” the album featured artists, T.I, Trey Songz, Kash Doll, EarthTone Lyrix, and Trina. She also released the 5-track EP, 90’s Baby. In recent work, Tokyo Jetz released “Baller Alert” ft Kash Doll.
