TJ Porter is an American rapper from Harlem, New York. He’s known for bangers like “Tricky”, “Do You Care?” and “Harlem.” Signed to Def Jam Recordings, the former hooper dropped his debut album, Voice of the Trenches, in June 2019. His previous projects include More To Life (2016), We Gone Ball (2017). Porter was born Terrence Reaves on May 15, 2000, in Harlem, New York. His initial dream was to become a basketball star. However, he suffered an ankle injury at Cardinal Hayes High School which altered his career path. He was also inspired by the death of his friend Juwan “Chico” Tavarez to pursue music.

Thanks to his uncle, Porter grew up to the sounds of heavy-hitters like The Notorious B.I.G., Nas and 50 Cent. He also listened to acts like Chris Brown, Ne-Yo and Meek Mill. Porter’s debut mixtape, More To Life, was released in October 2016. It was supported by tracks “Change Up” and “Basic B!tch” featuring Neek Bucks.
