Teejayx6 is an American rapper from Detroit, Michigan. He made a name for himself with the scammer anthem “Dark Web”, released in May 2019. Other popular tracks include “Swipe Story”, “Profiles” and “Dynamic Duo” with Kasher Quon. His discography includes Under Pressure (2019) and Fraudulent Activity (2019). He’s worked with record producer Metro Boomin. Teejay’s subgenre of music is dubbed “scam rap.” Some would call his music self-incriminating. Teejay goes into great detail about credit card fraud, identity theft, and the dark web in his music. He reportedly scammed everyone from his grandmother (“Blackmail”) to his barber (“Apple”) to Walmart (“Swipe Lesson”).

Given name, Teejay Witherspoon, he was born on August 28, 2001, in Detroit, Michigan. He was raised on the East side of Detroit. Growing up, his parents struggled to make ends meet. As per his No Jumper interview, Teejay first got into trouble for bringing a BB gun to school in his lunchbox. He was about 9 at the time. CAREER
Teejayx6 always wanted to become a rapper. However, he didn’t start taking the rap game seriously until he was around 16. He cited Atlanta rapper Money Man as an early source of inspiration. He also grew up listening to Chief Keef and Lil Wayne. The “xR” in his stage name was derived from his frequent use of MSR X6 credit/debit card readers. Teejay refers to his early music as trash because he wasn’t really living the life that he was portraying in the lyrics (drug-dealing, etc). His flow is often referred to as offbeat, a style shared by newcomer Blueface.

Crime Pays, Teejayx6’s debut EP was released in April 2019. It featured tracks “Flint Water” and “Swipe Siblings” with Xoxo Grim. His non-album singles “Rally”, “Summertime” and “Invest” were also released in April. He followed up with a series of 10kkev collabs, including “Not Worried”, “AGNB” and “Get Off.” In May 2019, Teejay began turning heads with tracks “Cashapp” and “Dark Web.” The latter racked up 930K+ spins on SoundCloud and the music video has been viewed 1.5+ million times. The Dark Web track was produced by Damjonboi and the video was shot and directed by Swizzimatic.

Teejayx6 dropped his next EP, Miami Sessions, in June 2019. It was led by “Swipe Story.” The EP featured guest appearances from Kasher Quon and Mula Mitch. His mixtape, Under Pressure, was released on June 13, 2019, by Good Produce. It featured tracks like “Credit Score”, “Bin” and “Swipe Story.” Teejay’s other projects include ‘Only Took 2 Days’ and ‘Out The Mud’ His joint single “Dynamic Duo” with Kasher Quon was released on June 18. Teejay keeps putting out music at an alarming rate. His ‘Fraudulent Activity’ mixtape dropped in July 2019. The following month he released “Website Scam” and teamed up with Metro Boomin on “Online Searching.”
