Tamron Hall is an American television journalist, television host, and former correspondent for NBC News. She hosted MSNBC Live and Today’s Take. She currently hosts ‘Deadline: Crime’ on the ID channel. Hall was born on September 16, 1970, in Luling, Texas. She was raised by her mother, Mary, and her stepfather, Clarence, who motivated her to become a journalist. She had a sister, Renate, who was murdered in 2004. Hall studied at Temple University in Philadelphia. She graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism.
CAREER
Upon graduation, Hall worked as a reporter for KBTX-TV. She joined the KTVT staff in her home state of Texas in 1994. Three years later she landed a position at WFLD-TV in Chicago, Illinois. She spent ten years at WFLD-TV starting in 1997. Hall worked as a consumer/general assignment reporter. She interviewed Barack Obama prior to his 2008 bid for presidency. Hall joined the MSNBC news network in 2007. She worked as a general reporter and fill-in anchor.
Hall co-hosted ‘The Big Picture’ with David Shuster from 2009 to 2010. She began hosting NewsNation in 2010 and in February 2014 she became a co-anchor of Today’s Take. She officially left NBC and MSNBC in February 2017. Hall picked up Emmy nominations for the segments “The Bottom Line” in 1999 and “Education Nation: Teacher Town Hall” in 2011. She was honored with the Lew Klein Alumni in the Media Award from Temple University in 2010. Hall’s upcoming syndicated talk show will premiere in September 2019. Television producer Bill Geddie will serve as executive producer.
