Tamar Braxton is an American singer, television personality and younger sister of Toni Braxton. She has released 5 studio albums, including Love and War (2013) and Calling All Lovers (2015). Her filmography includes Braxton Family Values, and Tamar & Vince. Braxton was born on March 17, 1977 in Severn, Maryland. She started out singing in her local church choir alongside her siblings.

CAREER
The Braxtons signed to Arista Records in 1989. Their debut single ‘Good Life’ arrived the following year. The group then signed to Atlantic Records and released their album, So Many Ways (1996). Braxton kicked off her solo career with the album, Tamar (2000), released by DreamWorks Records. Her second album, Love and War, arrived years later in November 2013. It was nominated for 2 Grammy Awards, including 1 for Best Urban Contemporary Album. Braxton followed up with Winter Loversland (2013) and Calling All Lovers (2015). Her latest project, Bluebird of Happiness, was released in 2017 by Tamartianland and E1 Music.

Braxton made her acting debut on the reality series, Braxton Family Values. The show premiered in April 2011 on WE tv. It co-stars Toni, Traci, Towanda, Trina and Evelyn. Braxton starred opposite Vincent Herbert in the spin-off series Tamar & Vince (2012-17). She was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars and more recently Celebrity Big Brother. Her television credits also include The Soul Man, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Being Mary Jane, and In the Cut.
