Stephen Curry is an American professional basketball player currently signed to the Golden State Warriors. He plays the point guard position and is known for his shooting prowess. He’s a three-times NBA All-Star who currently holds the record for most three-pointers made in a regular season with 402. He and teammate Klay Thompson are referred to as “The Splash Brothers”.
Curry was born on March 14, 1988 in Akron, Ohio. His father, Dell, and younger brother, Seth, both played in the NBA. He grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and attended Charlotte Christian School. He led his team to three conference titles and was offered a scholarship from Davidson College. He played for the Davidson Wildcats from 2006-2009 and averaged 25.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 37 assists. He reached his max height of 6ft 3in tall during his college career.
CAREER
Curry was selected by the Golden State Warriors in the 2009 NBA draft. He played his first All-Star game in 2014 and was named the Most Valuable Player in 2015. He led the Warriors to their first NBA championship in 40 years. He followed suit with and impressive 24–0 start to the 2015-2016 NBA season. Curry became the seventh player to join the 50–40–90 club. He joined the ranks of Steve Nash, Larry Bird, Mark Price, Reggie Miller, Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Durant. He also led the NBA in steals and scoring for 2016. The Golden State Warriors set a new NBA record with 73 wins and 9 losses. The record was previously held by Michael Jordan and the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls at 72-10. In 2016, Steph Curry aka ‘the baby-faced assassin’ became the first NBA player in history to win the MVP title unanimously. They lost the 2016 NBA championship to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
