Stacey Dash is an American actress, talk show host and former Fox News contributor. She starred as “Dionne Marie Davenport” in the film Clueless (1995) and the 90s ABC/UPN sitcom of the same name. Her credits include the films Mo’ Money (1992) and Renaissance Man (1994), and the series CSI, Celebrity Circus and Single Ladies.

Given name Stacey Lauretta Dash, she was born on January 20, 1967, in the Bronx, New York. Her mom, Linda, is Mexican-American and her dad, Dennis, is African-American. She has a younger brother named Darien. Dash attended Paramus High School in New Jersey. She graduated in 1985.

CAREER
Dash made her first notable television appearance as “Michelle” on ‘The Cosby Show’ in 1985. She later appeared on ‘TV 101’ and ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’. Prior to her first small-screen role, she appeared in a number of commercials. Dash made her feature film debut in the action film, Enemy Territory (1987). She followed up with roles in Moving (1988) starring Richard Pryor, and Tennessee Waltz (1989) with Julian Sands. Dash starred as “Amber Evans” opposite Damon Wayans in the crime-comedy, Mo’ Money (1992). She had s supporting role in Penny Marshall’s film Renaissance Man (1994).

Dash went on to play her biggest role as “Dionne Davenport” in the teen comedy Clueless (1995). The film was directed by Amy Heckerling and starred Alicia Silverstone. It made $56 million at the box office. The role of “Dionne Davenport” was reprised in the television sitcom ‘Clueless’ which ran from 1996-1999. Other notable films include View from the Top (2003) with Gwyneth Paltrow, and Phantom Punch (2008) with Ving Rhames. She will portray “Mildred Jefferson” in the upcoming political drama film Roe v. Wade (2019). Dash was featured in Kanye West‘s 2004 music video for the single “All Falls Down”. She posed nude for Hugh Hefner‘s Playboy magazine in 2006.
