ORIGIN
SmokePurpp is an American rapper, songwriter, and music producer. He’s also known by the stage name Lil Purpp and Lil Water. His popular tracks include “Ski Mask”, “No Smoke”, “6 Rings” and “WOKHARDT”. Purpp was born Omar Pineiro on May 15, 1997, in Chicago, Illinois. He was raised in Miami, Florida. He dropped out of high school during his senior year.

CAREER
SmokePurpp grew up listening to rappers like Lil Wayne, Chief Keef, Young Thug and Gucci Mane. He started producing his own beats while he was still in high school. Around this time he also met and developed a friendship with fellow up-and-coming rapper Lil Pump. like many underground artists, Purpp used social media and streaming sites to promote his music. His SoundCloud has 200+ thousand followers and more than 60 million spins. Some of his early tracks include “Ski Mask”, “Live Off A Lick” featuring XXXTentacion, and “Pole” featuring Swaghollywood. Purp’s 2016 singles include “JOHNNY!”, “25/8” and “6 Rings”. In addition to SoundCloud, he has thousands of fans across Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.

Purpp was signed to Todd Moscowitz’s Alamo Records in March 2017. The label is an Interscope subsidiary. His debut mixtape, DEADSTAR, was released in September 2017. It featured production from Frank Dukes, TM88, Harry Fraud, Ronny J, and a few others. The track-list includes “Audi.”, “Different Color Molly”, “To the Moon” and “Bless Yo Trap”. The second installment of the ‘Deadstar’ mixtape was released in 2018.

The collaborative tape, Bless Yo Trap, between Smokepurpp and Murda Beatz arrived in April 2018. The tape peaked at #22 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. It was supported singles “123” and “Do Not Disturb” with Lil Yachty and Offset. Smokepurpp collaborated with Lil Pump on the 2018 single “Nephew.” His upcoming project is titled Sounds of Space.
