CAREER
Fraser-Pryce began competing in track and field events as early as primary school. She became more competitive at Wolmer’s High School where she excelled at the 100-meter sprint. Fraser-Pryce further improved her sprint at the University of Technology placing 5th at the 2007 national championships. She went on to win silver for the 4 × 100-metre relay at the 2007 world championships.
Fraser-Pryce rose to stardom in 2008 with her historic performance at the Beijing Olympic Games. She defeated fellow Jamaicans Sherone Simpson and Kerron Stewart to win gold in the women’s 100-meter event. Fraser-Pryce won another gold medal and two silver at the 2012 Olympic games in London. She’s also dominated the World Championships with a total of 7 gold and 2 silver.
