Shaun White is an American professional snowboarder/skateboarder and 3x Olympic gold medalist. Nicknamed the “Flying Tomato”, he’s won multiple gold medals in the winter and summer X Games. He specializes in halfpipe, superpipe, and slopestyle events. Shaun Roger White was born on September 3, 1986, in San Diego, California. His parents are Cathy and Roger. He has two siblings, Kari and Jesse. White suffered from a congenital heart defect which led to two open-heart surgeries as a toddler. He attended Torrey Pines High School followed by the California State University of San Marcos.

CAREER
White was drawn to skateboarding/snowboarding at a young age. His early rise caught the attention of Tony Hawk, who befriended him and served as a mentor. He turned professional at age 13 and won his first US Open at age 16. His skateboarding accolades include the Action Sports Tour Championship. He’s won 2 gold, 2 silver, and a bronze at the Summer X Games in Los Angeles, California. White made his Winter X Games debut in 2002 in Aspen, Colorado. He won silver in both the superpipe and slopestyle events. He has since won 13 gold medals at the Winter X Games. He recorded a perfect score of 100 at the 2012 Winter X Game. White holds the record for most gold medals in the X games. He’s also the first athlete to qualify and medal for both the summer and winter games.

White made his Olympic debut at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. He won gold in the halfpipe event. His second and third Olympic gold medals came in 2010 (Vancouver, Canada) and 2018 (PyeongChang, South Korea). He’s the current record holder for most Olympic gold medals by a snowboarder. White has won 10 ESPY Awards for his athletic achievements. He was ranked #9 in the world by Snowboarder Magazine in 2009. He was named to Forbes “30 under 30” issue in 2016.

In 2017, White switched his talent agency from Creative Artists Agency to United Talent Agency. His memoir ‘F*** It: I’m Here to Win’ was published in 2018. It was co-written by Neil Strauss. White made came appearances in the films Cloud 9 (2014) with Dove Cameron, and Friends with Benefits (2011) with Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis. He’s a member of the electronic rock band Bad Things.
