Shaquille O’Neal is a former American professional basketball player who became an on-screen analyst on the postgame show, Inside the NBA. Shaq was born on March 6, 1972 in Newark, New Jersey. He is 7ft 1in tall and weighed in at 325 pounds in his prime. He attended Robert G. Cole High School and led his team to an impressive 68-1 record. He enrolled at Louisiana State University to study business but dropped out to pursue basketball. While at LSU, he was named college player of the year in 1991 and was later inducted into the LSU Hall of Fame.

Shaq was drafted by the Orlando Magic with the 1st overall pick in the 1992 NBA draft. He went on to play for the Los Angeles Lakers (1996-2004), Miami Heat (2004-2008), Phoenix Suns (2008-2009), Cleveland Cavaliers (2009-2010) and Boston Celtics (2010-2011). He won three consecutive championships while playing for the LA Lakers alongside Kobe Bryant. As a rapper, his debut album ‘Shaq Diesel’ was released in 1993 and was certified platinum in 1994.
