Russell Westbrook is an American professional basketball player signed to the Houston Rocket. He stands 6ft 3in tall and plays the point guard position. Westbrook is an 8x NBA All-Star, 2x All-Star MVP, Olympic gold medalist, and the 2017 NBA season MVP. Westbrook was born on November 12, 1988, in Long Beach, California. CAREER
Westbrook played varsity basketball at Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, California. He was a 2x MVP of the Bay League. As a senior, he averaged 25.1 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.1 steals and led the team to a 25-4 overall record. Westbrook played two seasons of basketball with the UCLA Bruins from 2006 to 2008. He played alongside future NBA players like Kevin Love, Arron Afflalo and Darren Collison. Westbrook averaged 8.3 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists over two seasons. He earned All-Pac-10 Third Team and Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2008.

Westbrook was selected by the Seattle SuperSonics (Oklahoma City Thunder) with the 4th overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft.
