Ronda Rousey is an American wrestler currently signed to WWE. She’s also an actress and former MMA fighter. She’s best known as the first UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion. Her film credits include The Expendables 3 (2014), Furious 7 (2015), and Entourage (2015). Rousey was born to parents AnnMaria De Mars and Ron Rousey on February 1, 1987 in Riverside, California. She has three sisters, Jennifer, Julia and Maria. Rousey spent her childhood between Southern California and Jamestown, North Dakota. She struggled with apraxia and had to take speech therapy growing up.

CAREER
Rousey took up judo at age 11 and by 15 she was named to the U.S. Olympic team. She won gold at the 2004 and 2005 Pan American Judo Championships, and gold at the 2007 Pan American Games. Rousey earned a bronze medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. She officially retired from judo at age 21.

Rousey made her martial arts debut in August 2010. Her professional MMA record stands at 12 wins (9 by submission) and 2 losses. Rousey won 12 consecutive MMA fights. She suffered her first loss in November 2015 at the feet of Holly Holm. Her second lost was to Brazil’s Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 for the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship. Rousey is currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). She performs on the Raw brand. Her standout moves include “Armbar”, “DDT”, “Arm Drag” and “Swinging Neckbreaker”.

In addition to fighting, Rousey is an aspiring actress. She made her feature film debut in The Expendables 3 (2014) starring Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham. Rousey held a supporting role as “Kara” in the action film, Furious 7 (2015). Her acting credits also include Entourage (2015), Fighter in The Sky (2016), Mile 22 (2018) and the upcoming Road House.
