Rob Ford was a Canadian politician and former Mayor of Toronto. He was born to parents Ruth and Douglas Ford on May 28, 1969 in Toronto, Canada. He had three siblings, Dough, Kathy and Randy. Ford attended Scarlett Heights Collegiate Institute with hopes of becoming a professional football player. He studied political science briefly at Carleton University but never completed his degree.
CAREER
Ford started his political career in 2000. He was elected and served three terms as City Councillor for the ward of Etobicoke North (Ward 2). Ford was elected as the 64th mayor of Toronto in October 2010. He was forced to step down in 2014 following numerous allegations of drugs and alcohol abuse. He denied the allegations at first until police investigation led to video evidence. Ford returned to his old post as Toronto City Councillor on December 1, 2014. He held that office until his death.
