Pooh Shiesty is an American rapper and songwriter from Memphis, Tennessee. He’s currently signed to the music labels 1017 Records (owned by Gucci Mane) and Atlantic Records. Shiesty’s body of work consists of the mixtape Shiesty Season (2021) and the compilation albums So Icy Summer (2020) and So Icy Gang, Vol. 1 (2020). His most spun tracks include “Back in Blood” alongside Lil Durk and “Neighbors” featuring Big30.

Shiesty was born Lontrell Dennell Williams, on November 8, 1999, in Memphis Tennessee. He spent most of his childhood in the Crane Creek apartment buildings located on the south side of Memphis. His dad was a fellow rapper (Mob Boss) who went on to launch his own label (Mob Ties Records). Lontrell spent 2 years living with his mom in Travis County, Texas, before moving back to his hometown. He completed his high school diploma at age 18 by taking a combination of online and summer classes.

CAREER
Shiesty began pursuing music in his teens. He developed and polished his rapping skills as a member of the ‘Choppa Gang’ crew alongside his high school friends. However, his first single “Hell Night” did not drop until February 2019. The track features fellow Memphis rapper Big30. The supporting music video was directed and shot by SMB Films. In 2019, Shiesty released additional songs “Shiesty Summer” and “Day One.” He reconnected with Big30 on the summer single “Choppa Talk.”

Pooh Shiesty kicked off 2020 with the singles “At It Again” and “Main Slime.” His sudden rise caught the attention of Gucci Mane, who ultimately signed him to 1017 Records and Atlantic Records. 1017 Records is home to rappers Foogiano, Big Walk Dog, and Big Scarr. Shiesty and Gucci’s first collab was titled “Still Remember.” He followed up with “Monday to Sunday” featuring Lil Baby & Big30. Both tracks were featured on the compilation album So Icy Summer (2020).

In September 2020, Shiesty dropped his “Twerksum” track to mostly positive reviews. The supporting music video racked up 36+ million views in the first 8 months of going live. It was directed by Jordan Spencer. Next, Pooh appeared alongside his labelmates on the track “1017 Loaded.” A second compilation album, So Icy Gang, Vol. 1, arrived in October 2020. The project peaked at #46 on the Billboard 200 and #25 on the Top Rap charts.

Shiesty closed out 2020 with his biggest single to date “Back in Blood” featuring Lil Durk. It performed exceptionally well, with more than 2 million units sold in the US. The ‘Back in Blood’ visual was directed and shot by Jerry Production. It has 150+ million YouTube views. Poo Shiesty’s debut mixtape, Shiesty Season, was released in February 2021. It was led by singles “Neighbors”, “Guard Up” and the previously mentioned “Back in Blood.” Shiesty Season peaked at #3 the Billboard 200 and features guest appearances from Lil Durk, Gucci mane, 21 Savage, Tay Keith, and Foogiano.
