Playboi Carti (formerly Sir Cartier) is an American rapper and music producer from Atlanta, Georgia. He broke out in 2017 with his self-titled mixtape. Carti is signed to ASAP Mob’s AWGE Label and Interscope records. His debut album, Die Lit, arrived in May 2018. He’s collaborated with ASAP Rocky, Lil Yachty and Tyler, the Creator among others. In 2017, he was 1 of 10 named to the XXL Freshman Class.
Carti was born Jordan Terrell Carter on September 13, 1996, in Atlanta Georgia. He spent his childhood in neighboring Riverdale, Georgia. One of his first jobs was at an H&M clothing store.
