Pitbull (Mr. Worldwide) is an American rapper, singer/songwriter, record producer, and businessman. He’s released 10 studio albums including M.I.A.M.I. (2004), Planet Pit (2011), and Global Warming (2012). His standout singles include “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)”, “Give Me Everything” and “Timber”. Pitbull was born Armando Christian Perez on January 15, 1981, in Miami, Florida. His parents Alysha Acosta and Armando Perez separated when he was a child. He attended South Miami Senior High School followed by Miami Coral Park High School.

CAREER
Growing up, Pitbull read and memorized the works of Cuban poet Jose Marti. He also cites Poison Clan, Celia Cruz, and Luther Campbell as early influences. In 2001, he appeared on Luther Campbell’s single “Lollipop”. The following year he was featured on the track “Pitbulls Cuban Rideout” from Lil Jon‘s Kings of Crunk (2002). Pitbull’s 2003 track “Oye” was featured on the 2 Fast 2 Furious soundtrack. His debut studio album, M.I.A.M.I., followed in August 2004. It was released on the label TVT Records. The album featured production by Lil Jon, The Diaz Brothers, Bigg D, and others. It produced 5 singles include “Culo”, “That’s Nasty” and “Back Up”. It produced the singles “Hey Baby (Drop It to the Floor)” featuring T-Pain, “Rain Over Me” with Marc Anthony, and “Give Me Everything” featuring Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer. Pitbull’s other albums include Global Warming (2012), Globalization (2014), Dale (2015), and Climate Change (2017). His EP, Meltdown (2013), was spearheaded by the single “Timber” featuring Kesha. Pitbull won a Latin Grammy Award (2013) for best urban performance, and a Grammy Award (2016) for best Latin rock, urban or alternative album. His accolades include multiple Billboard Music Awards, iHeartRadio Music Awards, and Latin Music Italian Awards. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2016.

In addition to music, Pitbull is an actor and businessman. His acting credits include Blood Money (2013) and the documentary La Gasolina: Reggaeton Explosion (2012). He voiced the character “Bufo” for the animated film Epic (2013). Pitbull appeared in a 2015 episode of the Fox drama series ‘Empire’. He co-wrote and served as an executive producer for the TV program La Esquina (2007-08). He was a featured guest on the shows Shark Tank (2012) and Dancing with the Stars (2012). Pitbull’s business ventures include a fragrance line, and a development pact with Endemol North America. He owns a stake in Voli Vodka and Miami Subs Pizza and Grill. He’s also worked with brands like Kodak, Dr Pepper, and Budweiser.

Pitbull’s height is 5ft 7in and he’s of Cuban descent. He’s fluent in both English and Spanish. His personal net worth is around $100 million.
