OBN Jay is an American rapper from Louisiana. He became popular after releasing standout singles “Chess Not Checkers,” “Big Ole” ft JayDaYoungan, and “TBH” ft Quando Rondo. OBN Jay was born on March 30, 2000. He grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He attended high school and graduated in June 2018.

He grew up witnessing crime and poverty. In an interview, he recalled life being very hard and people dying every week. Jay also explained that he has been rapping since “forever.” From 2nd grade, he scripted rap songs and drew pictures of guns. OBN Jay grew up listening to Boosie Badazz and 2Pac. In 2018, OBN Jay started turning heads with tracks like “Stop Playing” alongside BBG Joe, “Bout Dat,” and “No Way.” He later upgraded his status with hit singles “How That Go” and “Vision Blurry.” Released in August and September, respectively, both songs have garnered almost 2 million YouTube views collectively. He followed up with “TBH” ft Quando Rondo and “Chess Not Checkers.” Uploaded in October, both tracks quickly surpassed a million views. As OBN Jay’s career rose to new heights, his visuals began getting featured on WorldstarHipHop.

Finishing the year off on a good note, he released another heat seeker, Big Ole, ft JayDaYoungan. In 3 weeks, the track established 2.3 million views on YouTube and graced WSHH. He also successfully released his debut mixtape, Logic Real Talk. The 15-track mix featured JayDaYoungan. Aside from the aforementioned hits, the project featured standout tracks “I’m My Own Man” and “Heartbroken.” OBN Jay recently dropped the single “Tragic Story.” As of now, he is currently unsigned.
