Nancy McKeon is an American actress and television producer. She starred as “Jo Polniaczek” on the NBC sitcom The Facts of Life (1980-88). Her credits include Can’t Hurry Love, Style & Substance, The Division, Sonny with a Chance, and The Wrong Woman (1995). She’s also done voice roles for shows like The Scooby & Scrappy-Doo/Puppy Hour, and The Puppy’s Further Adventures. Nancy Justine McKeon was born on April 4, 1966, in Westbury, New York. Her parents are Donald and Barbara McKeon. She has an older brother, Philip McKeon, who’s also an actor. Nancy and her family moved to Los Angeles in the mid-1970s. She attended Bellarmine-Jefferson High School in Burbank, California.

CAREER
Prior to television, McKeon starred in several commercials. Her early television credits include the soap operas Another World and The Secret Storm. She followed up with guest appearances in Starsky & Hutch, and The Love Boat. McKeon co-starred as “Jill Stone” on the ABC police drama Stone (1980). She lent her voice to the animated series Thundarr the Barbarian (1980-81). In 1908, McKeon landed her breakout role as tomboy “Jo Polniaczek” on NBC’s The Facts of Life. The show ended in May 1988 after 9 seasons. McKeon won the 1983 Young Artist Award for the best young actress in a comedy series. The role of Jo Polniaczek was reprised in the TV films The Facts of Life Goes to Paris (1982) and The Facts of Life Down Under (1987).

McKeon appeared opposite Michael J. Fox in the NBC films High School U.S.A. (1983) and Poison Ivy (1985). She starred as a woman with schizophrenia in the TV drama film Strange Voices (1987). She voiced the character “Dolly” for the animated series The Puppy’s Further Adventures (1983-84). McKeon starred in her very own sitcom ‘Can’t Hurry Love’ from 1995 to 1996 on CBS. She starred as the inspector “Jinny Exstead” in the Lifetime crime drama The Division (2001-04). Her television credits also include Can’t Hurry Love, Style & Substance, and Sonny with a Chance. McKeon’s film debut was the drama Where the Day Takes You (1992) starring Sean Astin and Will Smith among others. Other notable films include Teresa’s Tattoo (1994) with C. Thomas Howell, and The Wrong Woman (1995) with Chelsea Field.
