Miley Cyrus is an American pop singer, songwriter and television actress. She became a teen idol for her lead role in the series, Hannah Montana. Cyrus was born to parents Tish and Billy Ray on November 23, 1992 in Franklin, Tennessee. Her birth name was legally changed from ‘Destiny Hope’ to ‘Miley Ray’ in 2008. Cyrus has five siblings, Trace, Brandi, Braison, Christopher and Noah Cyrus. She attended Heritage Elementary School before switching to private tutor.
CAREER
Cyrus made her television debut in the 2001 medical drama series, Doc. She was cast as “Kylie” in three episodes. Her film debut was the 2003 drama film, Big Fish, where she played an 8-year-old girl named “Ruthie”. In 2004, Cyrus landed her breakthrough role as “Miley Stewart” in the musical comedy series, Hannah Montana. The show ran for four seasons on Disney Channel from 2006 to 2011.
