Melissa Schuman is an American singer, actress, and former member of the girl group ‘Dream’. Her discography includes the album, It Was All a Dream (2001), and the singles “He Loves U Not” and “This Is Me”. She appeared in films like Love Don’t Cost a Thing (2003) and The Hollow (2004). Melissa Amber Schuman was born on August 21, 1984, in San Clemente, California. She has 4 younger siblings. Schuman trained at the Los Angeles drama school Scott Sedita Acting Studios. He also trained at the Groundlings School in Hollywood, California.

CAREER
Schuman began her pop music career as a member of the girl group ‘Dream’. The group was formed in 1998 alongside three other members, Holly Blake-Arnstein, Ashley Poole, and Alex Chester. They were signed to Sean Combs‘ Bad Boy Records. Alex Chester was replaced by Diana Ortiz in early 1999. Dream’s debut studio album, It Was All a Dream, was released in January 2001. It peaked at #6 on the Billboard 200 and at #11 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. It spawned the singles “He Loves U Not”, “This Is Me” and “Mr. Telephone Man”. They opened for Destiny’s Child, Eve, and Nelly on the 2001 TRL tour. Dream was active from 1998-2003 and from 2015-2016. Their second album, Reality, was released in 2008 by Universal Records. In 2016, they performed in various cities across the US as part of the My2K Tour.

Schuman made her acting debut in Serge Rodnunsky’s comedy film, Tiger (1997). She followed up with roles in the TV films Anna’s Dream (2002) and Recipe for Disaster (2003). She appeared on a 2001 episode of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Schuman starred as “Nicole” in the independent horror film, Silent Scream (2005). Her film credits include The Hollow (2004) with Kevin Zegers and Kaley Cuoco, and Love Don’t Cost a Thing (2003) with Nick Cannon and Christina Milian. She was featured in the web series Actress(es): A Web Series (2015-16).

PERSONAL
Melissa Schuman is 5ft 6in tall and she rules under the star sign, Leo. She married dancer ‘Brandon Henschel’ in June 2006. They have a son named Elin Elijah Henschel. Prior to marriage, she dated actor Gregory Smith.

On November 21, 2017, Schuman accused singer Nick Carter of rape. The alleged assault took place in 2002. She was 18 at the time.
