Megyn Kelly is an American journalist and political commentator. She hosted ‘The Kelly File’ on Fox from 2013 to 2017. She worked with NBC News from 2017 to 2018. Megyn Marie Kelly was born on November 18, 1970 in Syracuse, New York. Her mother, Linda, is a homemaker, and her late father, Edward, was an educator. She has an older brother named Pete. Kelly spent her early childhood in DeWitt before moving to Delmar at the age of 9. She attended Bethlehem Central High School followed by Syracuse University. She graduated in 1992 with a BA degree in political science. Kelly continued her education at Albany Law School. She earned a Doctor of Law degree in 1995 with honors. She was also an editor for the Albany Law Review.

CAREER
Kelly worked several years in law prior to her career in journalism. She moved to Chicago in 1997 to work as an associate at the Bickel & Brewer law firm. She later worked as a corporate litigator at Jones Day for 9 years. Kelly moved to Washington, D.C. in 2003. She landed a job as an assignment reporter for WJLA-TV (ABC). She covered a number of events including the 2004 presidential race between George W. Bush and John Kerry.

In 2004, Kelly began her tenure at the Fox New Channel as a Washington based correspondent. She moved to New York City in 2006 to co-anchor ‘America’s Newsroom’ alongside Bill Hemmer. Kelly hosted her own news program ‘America Live’ from 2010 to 2013. She began hosting ‘The Kelly File’ in October 2013. The program aired weekdays from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm ET. It wass ranked as the second most popular cable news program. The Kelly File focused on late-breaking stories, investigative reports and newsmaker interviews. In January 2017, Kelly announced her decision to move from Fox News to NBC News. Her position at Fox will was replaced by political commentator Tucker Carlson.

Kelly joined NBC news in 2017. The NBC newsmagazine show ‘Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly’ premiered in June 2017, and her daytime talk show ‘Megyn Kelly Today’ followed closely in September. Kelly also worked on Dateline NBC. In October 2018, NBC canceled Megyn Kelly Today. They terminated Kelly’s contract in January 2019.
