Meadowlark Lemon was an American basketball player known popular as the ‘Clown Prince’ of the Harlem Globetrotters. He was born on April 25, 1932 in Wilmington, North Carolina. He was drafted into the United States Army while attending Florida A&M University. He made his basketball debut with the Globetrotters in 1955. Lemon played thousands of games for the Globetrotters and in 2003 he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. He became an ordained minister in 1986, and established the Meadowlark Lemon Ministries, Inc. in 1994. Lemon married his first wife, Willye Maultsby, in 1977 and second wife, Cynthia Lemon, in 1994. He had a total of ten children. He died on December 27, 2015 at the age of 83. The cause of his death was not disclosed. Meadowlark Lemon was 6ft 3in tall and he had an estimated net worth of $2 million.
