Matt Barnes is a retired professional basketball player who last played for the Golden State Warriors. He was born on March 9, 1980 in Santa Clara, California. He attended Del Campo High School where he played both football and basketball. Barnes continued his basketball career at the University of California, Los Angeles. He played four seasons and was an All-Pacific-10 Honorable Mention in 2001.

CAREER
Barnes was drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies with the 46th overall pick in the 2002 NBA draft. He was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers but he was later dropped. He then played a year in the D-League followed by a year in the ABA league. In 2004, Barnes signed and played briefly with the LA Clippers followed by the Sacramento Kings. He signed with the Golden State Warriors in 2006 and effectively increased his offense and three-pointers. Barnes returned to the Clippers in 2012 and was named the team’s Defensive player of the year in 2013. He was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies prior to the 2015-2016 season. Barnes signed with the Sacramento Kings in July 2016. He was waived 7 months later in February 2017. He signed with the Golden State Warriors in March 2017.

Barnes’ actions on and off the court has resulted in several fines and game suspensions over the years. He’s had altercations with other NBA players including James Harden, Derek Fisher and John Henson.

Matt Barnes is 6ft 7in tall and has a net worth of $10 million. He had twin boys Isaiah Michael and Carter Kelly with girlfriend ‘Gloria Govan’ in 2008. They got married in 2012 but separated two years later.
