Marshmello (aka Dotcom) is a masked American DJ and electronic dance music producer. He’s one of the world’s highest-paid DJs, averaging more than $100,000 per show. Marshmello is known for hits like “Alone”, “Silence” with Khalid, “Wolves” with Selena Gomez, and “Friends” featuring Anne-Marie. His full-length debut, Joytime, was released in 2016. He’s currently been managed by Moe Shalizi. Marshmello was born Christopher Comstock on May 19, 1992, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He would eventually move to Los Angeles, California, to pursue music.

CAREER
Starting out, Chris used the moniker Dotcom before changing to Marshmello. He utilized the SoundCloud platform to share remixes and free downloads. His first original mix “WaVeZ” was uploaded in March 2015. They’ve sold a combined 6+ million copies worldwide. Marshmello appeared on the joint single “Friends” for Anne-Marie’s debut album Speak Your Mind (2018). He was featured on the track “Everyday” from Logic‘s Bobby Tarantino II (2018). His second studio album, Joytime II, dropped in June 2018. It was supported by the singles “Tell Me” and “Check This Out.” Marshmello picked up a top-3 placement on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Happier” featuring Bastille. The official video attracted 80+ million views within the first 2 months.

In addition to his music/shows, Marshmello is known for his large YouTube and social media following. His self-titled YouTube channel boasts 22+ million subscribers and 3.9+ billion views. Marshmello’s height is around 5ft 11in and he’s of English, French, German, Irish, Welsh, and Scottish ancestry. Both his stage name and his “marshmallow” helmet were inspired by Canadian DJ deadmau5. The helmet reportedly cost $55,000 and weighs 8 pounds. Marshmello’s net worth is estimated at $25 million USD.
