Luke Bryan is an American country music singer and songwriter. He’s known for songs like “That’s My Kind of Night”, “Play It Again” and “Drunk on You”. His top-performing albums include Tailgates & Tanlines (2011), and Crash My Party (2013). Bryan was born Thomas Luther Bryan on July 17, 1976, in Leesburg, Georgia. He was raised by parents LeClaire and Tommy. His brother, Chris, was killed in a car accident, and his sister, Kelly, died unexpectedly in 2007. Bryan attended Lee County High School followed by Georgia Southern University. He graduated in 1999 with a degree in business administration.

CAREER
Bryan grew up listening to country musicians like Merle Haggard, George Strait and Alan Jackson. He was also inspired by the hip-hop band, Beastie Boys. Bryan received his first guitar at age 14. Moving forward he performed in local bands and school musicals. He moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2001. There her worked as a songwriter for a local publishing house. His first notable track was “My Honky Tonk History” for Travis Tritt in 2004.

Bryan signed to Capitol Records in 2007 and his debut studio album, I’ll Stay Me, followed closely. His sophomore album, Doin’ My Thing, was released in October 2009. It was led by the singles “Do I”, “Rain is a Good Thing”, and “Someone Else Calling You Baby”. Bryan’s third album, Tailgates & Tanlines (2011), peaked at #1 on the Top Country charts. The album was certified 2x Platinum with over 2.5 million copies sold in the United States. His later albums Crash My Party (2013) and Kill the Lights (2015) both saw commercial success.

Bryan was named “Entertainer of the Year” in 2014 by the Country Music Association Awards and in 2015 by the Academy of Country Music Awards. He’s also won multiple Billboard Music Awards and American Music Awards over the years.
