Lil Xan is an American rapper, songwriter, and former photographer from Redlands, California. He’s known for songs like “Slingshot”, “Betrayed” and “Color Blind” with Diplo. His discography includes the album Total Xanarchy (2018) and the mixtape Heartbreak Soldiers (2018). He’s worked with Lil Skies, Trippie Redd, and Baby Goth among others.

Xan was born Nicholas Diego Leanos on September 6, 1996, in Redlands, California. His mother’s name is Candy. The family spent a number of years living in motels due to financial hardship. Diego enrolled briefly at Redlands East Valley High School before dropping out. His first known job was as a street cleaner. He would later support himself working as a photographer.

Lil Xan began his rap career in mid-2016. His music influences include Atlanta rapper Playboi Carti. The stage name “Lil Xan” was given to him by friends while they were hanging out in Austin, Texas. It featured guest verses from 2 Chainz, Rae Sremmurd, YG and a few others. Total Xanarchy peaked at #10 on the Billboard 200. It produced additional singles “Slingshot”, “Far” and “Wake Up.”

The mixtape ‘Heartbreak Soldiers’ dropped in July 2018. It spawned the single “Lies” featuring Lil Skies. Xan’s 4th EP, Xanarchy Militia, followed in November 2018. It was supported by the single “Slope.” His second full-length album, Be Safe, is scheduled for March 2019. It will include songs “Watch Me Fall” and “Tree Sap.” Lil Xan has more than 6 million monthly listeners on Spotify. He has 5+ million followers on Instagram and thousands of fans across Twitter and Facebook.
