ORIGIN
Lil West is an American rapper and engineer from Delaware. He’s currently associated with the Nomad Music Group label. Determined to put the first state on the map, West has released projects like LW17 (2017) and his ‘Indigo’ EP series. West is known for tracks like “F#kk!!CodeRED” with Night Lovell and “REM” featuring nothing,nowhere. He’s worked with producers like Take A Daytrip, Nodachi, Distance Decay, and Osno1.

West was born on May 12, 1998, in the small town of Bridgeville, Delaware. Growing up, he was exposed to the music of Wiz Khalifa, Waka Flocka Flame and Gorillaz courtesy of his father. He would later get into bands like Cradle of Filth and All Time Low.

CAREER
Like many before him, West started out on the SoundCloud music streaming platform. He kicked things off in 2015 with the Nodachi-produced EP Indigo. His “Soon To Be (Remix)” featuring Rich The Kid followed in March 2016. The following month West recruited TM88 and Dylan Brady for his “DON’T! Just Stop” single featuring Dylan Brady. The second installment of the ‘Indigo’ EP series arrived in May 2016. It was led by the single “F#kk!!CodeRED” with Night Lovell.

The joint single “WYM” between West and 21 Savage was released in July 2016. Produced by CaptainCrunch, the “Why You Mad?” track now sits at 180K+ spins on SoundCloud. West’s full-length debut, W17, was released in September 2017 by Nomad Music. It was supported by the single “LMK” featuring Lil Aaron. West was later featured on the track “REM” from nothing,nowhere’s album Reaper (2017). He closed out 2017 with “You Know It All” and “Work Out.”

In July 2018, West dropped “No More”, produced by Distance Decay and Hovenchy. The supporting music video was filmed in the canyons of Malibu in Los Angeles. It was directed by Noisey’s Justin Staple. West’s “Cut Me Off Like Chyna Bb” single premiered in September 2018. He followed up with “Give It All Up” (produced by Take A Daytrip) and “Baller” (produced Take A Daytrip and Russ Chell).

PERSONAL
Lil West’s sound is constantly changing, incorporating elements of hip-hop, EDM, rock, trap, and emo. The Osno1-produced track “Gum in my Hair” stands as proof of his diversity and genre-hopping.
