ORIGIN
Lil Tracy is an American emo/rock rapper, singer, and producer. He’s formerly known as ‘Yung Bruh’, ‘Souljawitch’, and ‘Tracy Minaj’. His discography includes songs like “This Year”, “Checkmate”, “Demons” and “Fell Asleep in the Bando”. Tracy was born Jazz Butler on October 13, 1995, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. His mother, Coco Clemens, performed with the group ‘Sisters With Voices’, while his father, Ishmael Butler, performed as a member of ‘Digable Planets’ and ‘Shabazz Palaces’. Tracy spends his early childhood between Virginia (mother) and Seattle (father). He claims to be bipolar and a loner back in his high school days.

CAREER
Butler began pursuing music in his mid-teens. One of his earliest tracks “Emocean” was recorded when he was 16. It was produced by Fish Narc. Butler is currently a member of the emo-rap collective ‘GothBoiClique’. The group was formed in 2013 in Los Angeles, California. The current members include Cold Hart, Horsehead, Wicca Phase, and Mackned. The late Lil Peep was also a member of the group. Prior to GothBoiClique, Butler was affiliated with the ‘ThraxxHouse’ collective. Some of his early projects include Indigo Soul Mixtape (2014), When Angels Cry (2015), and Baeboyy (2015). They were recorded under the stage name Yung Bruh. Butler adopted the moniker ‘Lil Tracy’ after producer Nedarb gifted him a Tracy McGrady jersey.

Lil Tracy and Lil Peep shared a close friendship both in and out of the studio. They collaborated on the EP, Castles (2016). He was featured on Peep’s mixtapes, Crybaby (2016) and Hellboy (2016). The two worked together on songs like “Gods”, “Cobain” “Witchblades”, and “I Crash, U Crash”. Tracy has also collaborated with rappers Famous Dex, Trippie Redd, Matt Ox and Uno The Activist. He’s worked with music producers such as BigHead, Forza, and Captain Crunch.

Tracy shares the bulk of his music via SoundCloud and YouTube. His independent projects include Heavens Witch (2015), Moonstones (2016), XOXO (2017), and Life of a Popstar (2017). He collaborated with Lil Raven on Fly Away (2017), and with Mackned on Hollywood High (2017). Tracy’s standout music videos include “This Year” and “Checkmate”. Both tracks were produced by BigHead. He’s also dropped visuals for “Pictures” and “Vampire in the Moonlight Countin Money Up”. His more recent songs include “Gorilla”, “My Bae” and “On My MacBook”.
