Lil Peep was an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He was known for songs like “BeamerBoy”, “White Wine” and “Hellboy.” His discography includes the mixtapes, Live Forever (2015), Teen Romance (2016), and the album, Come Over When You’re Sober, Pt. 1 (2017). Lil Peep was born Gustav Elijah Ahr on November 1, 1996, in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Long Island, New York. His parents Liza Womack and Karl Ahr were educators. He was given the nickname “Peep” by his mother. Lil Peep dropped out of Long Beach High School. He eventually earned his diploma by taking online courses.

Lil Peep’s musical influences included iLoveMakonnen, Fall Out Boy, and Future. He began posting his own music to SoundCloud in the middle of 2015. His early songs include “Praying to the Sky” and “The Way I See Things”. Lil Peep had over 200,000 followers and more than 80 million spins on SoundCloud. He also had a popular YouTube channel with millions of video views. Selected videos from his channel include “White Wine” and “WitchBlades”. He had thousands of fans across Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Peep was a member of the collective, GOTHBOICLIQUE.

Dubbed the “new emo”, Lil Peep’s lyrics covered topics like drug usage, witchcraft, suicide, and relationships. He released 4 mixtapes, Lil Peep Part One (2015), Live Forever (2015), Crybaby (2016), and Hellboy (2016). His debut EP, Feelz, was released in 2015. He collaborated with Lil Tracy on two projects, Castles (2016) and Castles II (2017). Lil Peep’s debut studio album, Come Over When You’re Sober, was released in August 2017. It featured tracks like “Benz Truck”, “U Said” and “Better Off (Dying)”. His second studio album, Come Over When You’re Sober, Pt. 2, was released in November 2018. It peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200.

Lil Peep died on November 15, 2017, at the age of 21. His reported cause of death was an accidental drug overdose (fentanyl-Xanax). Reports of his death were confirmed by his manager Chase Ortega. Peep was about 6ft 1in tall and he was of Irish, German and Swedish descent. His net worth was estimated at $300 thousand. In addition to music/concerts, he also sold a variety of merchandise including hats, hoodies, Tees, and posters. Peep came out as bisexual in August 2017. He dated actress/singer, Bella Thorne, followed by social media star, Arzaylea Rodriguez, prior to his death.
