Liam Payne was an English singer, songwriter, and member of the pop boy band One Direction. He was born on August 29, 1993, in Wolverhampton, England. His mother, Karen, worked as a nurse, and his father, Geoff, worked for the now-defunct Goodrich Corporation. He had two sisters, Nicola and Ruth. Payne attended St. Peters Collegiate School followed by the City of Wolverhampton College. He majored in music technology. He also experimented with cross-country running and took boxing lessons as a child.

CAREER
Payne gained early exposure as a member of the performance group Pink Productions. They sang and performed locally. He cites singers Pharrell Williams and Justin Timberlake as two of his major influences. Payne auditioned for season 5 of The X Factor in 2008. He advanced to the final 24 before he was eliminated. He returned to the show for season 7 in 2010. He fell short once again but this time he was allowed to perform as a group. Payne began his solo career in the summer of 2016. He signed with Capitol Records in July 2016 and Republic Records in October 2016. He also worked as a producer under the alias Big Payno. Liam Payne died on October 16, 2024, at 31. He died from “multiple traumas” in addition to “internal and external bleeding.” The beloved singer/songwriter fell from a 3rd-floor balcony at the CasaSur hotel located in Palermo, Buenos Aires.
