Kody Goens (Born Kody Michael Goens on May 28th, 1994, in Noblesville, IN) is an American singer/songwriter and music producer. He’s best known for being the lead vocalist of the award-winning pop duo Second Alibi. They’ve toured with well-known acts such as Aaron Carter in 2017. Goens’ debut single “High” was released in the Spring of 2018 by E2A Music Group, LLC. It is available on such platforms as iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, and SoundCloud. Goens attended Pendleton Heights High School in Pendleton, Indiana. He continued his studies at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis.
CAREER
Kody began his career after being discovered by synth-pop singer Adam Mardel with the “Ohio Boy Band Search” in 2014. The group that came out of the search would eventually be known as Second Alibi. Goens replaced the original lead vocalist Jake Tucker and would lead the duo to international success with multiple hit songs. Second Alibi’s debut single “Ignite” won the Ohio Music Award for Best Electronica Song. Their third single “Red” peaked at #3 on the iTunes chart in the summer of 2016.
In 2017, Goens co-wrote and produced the singles “Vapor” and “Under The Influence” for singer Kady OBrien. Both songs were featured on Obrien’s EP, Silver Lines & Paper Cuts (2017). After four years with Second Alibi, Goens released his debut single “High” in the spring of 2018. The song received minimal success but officially solidified Kody as a true R&B singer.
