Kerri Walsh-Jennings is an American beach volleyball player and three-time Olympic gold medalist. She was born Kerri Lee Walsh on August 15, 1978, in Santa Clara, California. Her father, Timothy, was a minor league baseball player, and her mother, Margery, was a volleyball player. She has three siblings, Kelli, KC, and Marte. Walsh-Jennings attended Archbishop Mitty High School followed by Stanford University. She graduated in 2000 with a degree in American Studies.

CAREER
Walsh-Jennings was competitive in both volleyball and basketball during high school. She led the school’s volleyball team to three consecutive state championships from 1993 to 1995. She picked up a number of honors along the way including the 1996 Gatorade Player of the Year Award. Walsh-Jennings continued her career at Stanford University on a volleyball scholarship. She became the second player in NCAA history to earn First-Team All-American honors four seasons in a row.

Walsh-Jennings made her Olympic debut at the 2000 Sydney games, finishing in fourth place. She partnered with Misty May-Treanor to win gold at the 2004 Summer Games in Athens. Walsh-Jennings won her second and third Olympic gold medals at the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London games respectively. Her World Championships record consists of three gold medals and a silver. Walsh-Jennings and April Ross represented team USA at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
