Ken Stabler was a NFL player and sports commentator. Nicknamed “The Snake”, he stood 6ft 3in tall and played as a quarterback. He was born on Christmas day 1945 in Foley, Alabama. He attended Foley High School where he played different sports including Baseball, Basketball and Football. He enrolled at the University of Alabama in 1964 and made his debut with the Crimson Tide in 1965. He became starting quarterback for the Crimson Tide in 1966 and led the team to a perfect season finishing 11-0.

CAREER
Stabler was selected in the second round by the Oakland Raiders in the 1968 NFL Draft. He played his first game in the 1970 season but his early career was plagued with knee injuries. He became know for his accurate passes and was dubbed NFL’s passing champion in 1976. He won Super Bowl XI in 1977 defeating the Minnesota Vikings. He was traded to the Houston Oilers (1980-1981) and the New Orleans Saints (1982-1984). He retired from the NFL in the middle of the 1984 season.

Ken Stabler died at the age of 69 on July 8, 2015. His reported cause of death was colon Cancer. Studies also showed that he had brain disease, Stage 3 chronic traumatic encephalopathy (C.T.E). Stabler had a net worth of $300 thousand. He was married three times to wives Isabel Clark (1968-1973), Debbie Fitzsimmons (1975-1978) and Rose Molly Burch (1984-2002). He had three daughters; Kendra, Alexa and Marissa.
