Kalabhavan Mani was an Indian actor, playback singer and music director. He was born Mani Raman on January 1, 1971 in Chalakudy, Kerala. He attended the Kalabhavan performing arts center in Kochi, India. Kalabhavan specializes in mimicry.

CAREER
Mani made his film debut in the 1995 Indian Malayalam film, Aksharam. The film was directed by Sibi Malayil. Mani later starred as “Ramu” in the 1999 film, Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum. The film’s success earned him several awards including a ‘National Film Award’, ‘Kerala State Film Award’, and an ‘Asianet Film Award’. Mani has since appeared in over 200 films (Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada) and is probably best know for playing villainous roles. His first album as a playback singer was Kannimanga Prayathil. Other notable projects include Sammanam, Karumadikkuttan, Kazhcha, and Kabadi Kabadi.

Kalabhavan Mani died on March 6, 2016 at the age of 45. His reported cause of death was cirrhosis of the liver. Mani was married to Dr. Nimmy in 2000 and they had a daughter, Sree Lakshmy.
