June Lockhart is an American television, film and theater actress. She’s best known for her role in the series, Lassie (1954) and Lost in Space (1965). Lockhart was born on June 25, 1925 in New York City. Her father, Gene, was a Canadian-born actor and her mother, Kathleen, was an English-born actress. She grew up in California where she attended Westlake School for Girls in Beverly Hills.

CAREER
8-year old Lockhart started out in theater. He first role was that of “Mimsey” in the opera, Peter Ibbetson. Lockhart made her movie debut in the 1938 film ‘A Christmas Carol’. She starred as “Phyllis Allenby” in the 1946 horror film, She-Wolf of London. Other notable films include Bury Me Dead (1947), Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp (1982), Troll (1986), and Wesley (2009). Lockhart was awarded a Tony Award in 1948 for her role in the Broadway play ‘For Love or Money’. She also has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, one for film and the other for television.

Lockhart landed her first television role in a 1949 episode of ‘The Ford Theatre Hour’. She followed up with appearances on the NBC drama, Justice and two episodes of the CBS western, Have Gun – Will Travel. Lockhart played the character “Ruth Martin” in the CBS series, Lassie. She appeared in 200 episodes from 1959-1964. Her next big role was that of “Maureen Robinson” in the sci-fi series, Lost in Space. She held the role from 1965-1968. Other series include Family Affair, Petticoat Junction and the television film, Holiday in Handcuffs.

June Lockhart is 5ft 5in tall and has a net worth of $10 million. She was married to ‘Dr. John F. Maloney’ from 1951-1959 and they had two daughters, Anne Kathleen and June Elizabeth. She was married to second husband ‘John Lindsay’ from 1959-1970.
