Josh McDermitt is an American actor and stand-up comedian. He rose to prominence as “Eugene Porter” on ‘The Walking Dead‘ tv series. His television credits also include Retired at 35, and Mad Men. McDermitt was born on June 4, 1978 in Phoenix, Arizona. He has five siblings. Off-screen, McDermitt is a certified hot air balloon pilot. He’s also a member of the Robert Downey Jr Jr improvisational comedy troupe.

CAREER
McDermitt began his career in comedy as a teenager. He was 14 when he landed his first gig on a local morning show hosted by Tim and Willy. He was later hired as a writer and producer for the radio station KMLE. He held that position until 2007. McDermitt was a contestant on the fourth season of Last Comic Standing in 2006. He was eliminated in the semifinals. McDermitt played the role of “Larry” in the 2009 television movie, Rehab for Rejects. He portrayed “Jon Favreau” in the short video, Iron Man 2 Table Read (2010).

In 2011, McDermitt was cast as “Brandon” in the TV Land sitcom, Retired at 35. The show ran for two seasons from January 2011 to August 2012. McDermitt next big role was that of “Eugene Porter” in the AMC horror-drama series, The Walking Dead. He debuted in season four and was added to the main cast starting with season five. The show also stars Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Danai Gurira and Andrew Lincoln. McDermitt has made guest appearances in Work It (2012), and Mad Men (2014). He held the lead role as “Homer” in the 2015 drama film, Life of Color.
