Joey Lawrence is an American actor, musician, and television host. He starred as “Joey Donovan” in Gimme a Break! (1983-87), as “Joey Russo” in Blossom (1990-95), as “Joe Roman” in Brotherly Love (1995-97), and as “Joe Longo” in Melissa & Joey (2010-15). His film credits include Oliver & Company (1988) and Urban Legends: Final Cut (2000). On the musical front, he released two studio albums in the 1990s.

His mom, Donna, worked as a personnel manager, and his dad, Joseph Sr., was an insurance broker. He has younger siblings, Matthew (Matt) and Andrew (Andy). CAREER
Lawrence got his start in show biz doing commercials. His first notable gig was an advertisement for Cracker Jack. He followed up with a guest appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In 1982, Lawrence appeared on the sitcoms Diff’rent Strokes and Silver Spoons. The following year he was cast as “Joey Donovan” in the NBC sitcom Gimme a Break! (1983-87). His film debut was the comedy, Summer Rental (1985), starring John Candy and Richard Crenna. He voiced the character “Oliver” for the animated musical film, Oliver & Company (1988). Other early films include Chains of Gold (1991) with John Travolta, and A Goofy Movie (1995) with Jason Marsden.
In 1990, Lawrence landed a starring role as “Joey Russo” on the NBC sitcom Blossom. The show ran for 5 seasons from July 1990 to May 1995. Lawrence co-starred as “Joe Roman” opposite his brothers in the sitcom Brotherly Love (1995-97). He held the lead role as “Kurt Franklin” in Run of the House (2003-04).
