CAREER
Mixon began his football career at Freedom High School in Oakley, California. He played three years as the starting running back for the Freedom Falcons. He recorded 1,704 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns his senior year. Mixon was ranked as a five-star recruit by Rivals, 247Sports, and Scout. He also earned High School All-American honors in 2013. In addition to football, Mixon was a competitive basketball player. He averaged 12.2 points over 16 games.
Mixon committed to Oklahoma in January 2014. Other offers on the table included Alabama, UCLA, and Florida State. Mixon was redshirted in 2014 due to a misdemeanor assault charge.
