James Charles is an American makeup artist, model, and social media star. He made history as the first male ambassador for CoverGirl cosmetics. His social media presence exceeds 19 million followers across Instagram and Twitter. Charles was born James Charles Dickinson on May 23, 1999, in Bethlehem, New York. He has a younger brother named Ian Jeffrey. His parents helped supported him by converting their basement into a makeup studio. Charles attended Bethlehem Central High School in his hometown.
