Giannis Antetokounmpo is a Greek professional basketball player signed to the Milwaukee Bucks. Dubbed “The Greek Freak”, he stands 6ft 11in tall and plays the small forward position. Antetokounmpo was born on December 6, 1994, in Athens, Greece. His parents Veronica and Charles are immigrants from Nigeria. He has four brothers, Thanasis, Alexis, Kostas, and Francis.

CAREER
Antetokounmpo began his basketball career with the Greek professional basketball club, Filathlitikos B.C. He started out in their youth squad and worked his way to the senior squad in 2012. Antetokounmpo competed in the Greek A2 League during the 2012-13 season. He played in 26 games, averaged 9.5 points and 5 rebounds. He also played in the 2013 Greek League All-Star Game.

Antetokounmpo was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 15th overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft. He averaged 6.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists for his rookie season. He was named to the 2013-14 NBA All-Rookie Second Team. Antetokounmpo competed in both the 2015 NBA Slam Dunk Contest and the NBA Rising Stars Challenge. He recorded his first career triple-double on February 22, 2016, in a 108-101 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. Antetokounmpo made his first NBA All-Star Game appearance on February 19, 2017. He’s the first All-Star starter for the Bucks since Sidney Moncrief back in 1986. He’s also the first Greek NBA All-Star and the youngest All-Star starter in Bucks’ franchise history.
