Ed Sheeran is a Grammy winning English singer, songwriter and musician. He was born Edward Christopher Sheeran on February 17, 1991 in Halifax, West Yorkshire. His mother ‘Imogen’ is a jewelry designer and his father ‘John’ is an art curator and lecturer. He has an older brother named Matthew. Sheeran grew up in Framlingham where he began playing the guitar at an early age. He attended Thomas Mills High School and was later accepted at the National Youth Theatre in London. His early musical influences include artists like Damien Rice, The Beatles, and Bob Dylan.

CAREER
Sheeran released his debut EP, The Orange Room, in 2005. He was 14 at the time. His self-titled second EP was released in 2006 followed by ‘Want Some?’ in 2007. He later moved to London in an effort to further his music career. Sheeran’s EPs and stage performances impressed the right people and by 2011 he was signed to Asylum Records. His debut studio album ‘+’ was released on September 9, 2011 and featured the Grammy nominated single “The A Team”. The album peaked at #1 on the UK Charts and was certified platinum by the RIAA. Sheeran’s second album ‘X’ was released in 2014 with lead single “Sing”. The album was commercially successful and saw a #1 debut on both the UK and US charts. The single “Thinking Out Loud” picked up two Grammy Awards in 2016. Sheeran’s third album “÷” was released on March 3, 2017 by Asylum and Atlantic Records. It was led by the singles “Castle on the Hill” and “Shape of You”.
