Dr. Dre is an American rapper, music producer and entrepreneur. He was born Andre Romell Young on February 18, 1965 in Campton California. Dre attend Vanguard Junior High School as a child but transferred to Roosevelt Junior High to avoid gang violence. He was a member of the electro group ‘World Class Wreckin’ Cru’ from 1984-1985, and the gangsta rap group ‘N.W.A’ from 1986-1991. He co-founded Death row records in 1991 and released his debut studio album, The Chronic, the following year. The album was certified triple platinum by the RIAA and won a Grammy Award for the single ‘Let Me Ride’. He formed Aftermath Entertainment in 1996 and worked with rappers like 50 Cent and Eminem. Dre and Jimmy Lovine founded Beats Electronics in 2008. Apple acquired Beats in 2014 for $3 billion in a cash and stock deal. He has won several awards over the years including six Grammys and two MTV Music Awards. He’s still alive and his estimated net worth is $800 million.
