Davido is an American-born Nigerian singer, songwriter, and music producer. He broke out in 2011 with the hit single “Dami Duro.” His discography includes the album Omo Baba Olowo (2012) and the EP Son of Mercy (2016). Davido is a co-founder of HKN Music. CAREER
Davido developed an interest in music while attending Oakwood University. Still a teen at the time, he would make beats and research music production in his free time. He was a member of the music group KB International. In 2011, Davido dropped out of Oakwood University and moved back to Lagos, Nigeria. His debut single “Back When” featuring Naeto C was released later that year. His second single “Dami Duro”, produced by Shizzie, achieved critical success. The song won the Nigeria Entertainment Award for the hottest single of the year. It also picked up an award for best video by a new artist at the Nigeria Music Video Awards (NMVA).
